First off I would like to start with the overall look of the photo. I love how its black and white, and that it has an almost penciled look to it, it makes it seem more like an illustration than a photo, and boy does it tell a story!

As for the photo itself the perspective is wonderful. The angle of the man and looking straight into the kitchen has a great way of unifying the photo's subject to the scene itself rather than just the man and then the sink. The mans expression is a great representation of dread, he seems to know exactly what is coming. The way his hand [assuming its his] is gripping his face seems like he is trying to force himself to do the task which is at hand. The gripping of the sponge is like his willpower and courage to stand up and do his duty. A wonderful piece in my opinion and worthy of its DD!

I find that the dark black and white effect is very powerful, and the subject matter itself is something many of us can relate to, especially me! Piles of dishes everywhere are my worst enemy, and this definitely reaches out and grabs anyone that has ever had to clean things by hand instead of the good old dishwasher. The door under the sink looks foreboding too, like there are more nasty things waiting to crawl out of there! Very true! I dread looking under my sink, and I dread looking at that pile of dishes! This is dark and expressive.
